Hi all, This is my mother-in-laws' car and I want to help her get better gas mileage. I have scanned it, but no problems exist. She keeps regular oil changes, and has new tires. I have replaced the air filter and changed plugs. What else can I do to help this car? Thank you

Seems like it's right up there with the way it is. Same suggestions for anyone - Keep tires up to proper pressure, eliminate unnecessary weight (junk kept in trunk etc.) and drive gently.

I'll suggest that synthetic oils can add a nudge of help but hard to notice. The way it's driven makes a lot of difference. There's measureable improvement with driving slower on highways - skip the usual 70-80 I see all the time and keep it down to limits,

T

Thanks for the info-she loaned us this car because a week ago my son totaled out our car. So I have treated it gently, but noticed it was eating fuel anyway. I will try the synthetic oil Thanks again
