OK so i just recently got a 2000 Hyundai Elantra automatic. No it only has 60,000 miles on it and i just got the engine inspected and everything works great. Now i love this car and am wanting to do a little body work on it to make it look a little cooler, but that is covered. My question is how would I make this car a little faster? I know its not the most ideal car to put a ton of money into but are there any "easy" ways to make it have a little more get up and go?

Where I live if an engine is altered in any way the vehicle is rejected and will not be allowed on public roads. That includes not having the right gas cap on it!!

Know that if there were easy tricks for more power without other consequences the manufacturer would have done it. The claims of funky spark plugs and some of that is just not true so save the money and use OE.

The totally easy and non invasive things you can do is to get the best air filter you can buy. I find WIX makes the best. Tire pressure at maximum recommendation can help rolling resistance. Take all unnecessary weight out of the car. That's all I can think of to maximize performance without major alterations,
