Todays delima- I own an 88 Lebaron convertible. Not real bad shape and am looking to off it. I own too many motors. If I offered this car at say $1500.00, could'nt someone buy it and take it to a dealership- then get a $4500.00 crusher credit for it? Sounds like a win-win to me! They get $3000.00 toward a new car & I get $1500.00. Anyone know the guidelines?

No, it wouldn't meet the criteria. First the fuel mileage rating would be too high plus it has to be registered to the same owner for one year.

That's why there are so many strings attached, to close all the loopholes. They are actually realizing they probably went too far with the restrictions.
