Newbie to the auto world and needing some advice buying my first Vehicle?;

I need some advice on what I can do to get the information I need from a auto dealership.
There is a dealership in my home town that also has 4 or 5 other locations within my area as well.
I went online the other day looking on a site and I found a vehicle at a local dealership.
Used 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer $799.
Mileage 248,573
Description " Local Trade, Four Wheel Drive, Cd Player, Cassette Player,,Air And Cruise. Runs And Drives With Body Damage, Being Sold As Is.,Listed As Tow Away Vehicle."
Now as is says in the description I can see that it runs and drives. And it says body damage. I also seen all the damage in the photos from the dealerships site there's over 12 photos.
Details from inside and outside.
So ok I see the damages and I see where it says it runs. But I was still wondering how well it runs.
So on the right hand side of the screen where it says "Request Information" I clicked there and filled in my E-mail address and first and last name. And I asked "Who well dose it run"
I was only worried about the running part. I wanted a cheap starter vehicle and 799 for a 05 and kellys blue book showed I think around 2,000 or a little more.
The reply I got from a sales person was rude as all hell.
I asked how it ran.
He reply's " This is a "tow away" vehicle. Not meant for the road, meant for parts or to be rebuilt. It has body damage on every panel."
I could tell it had outside damage I was asking how it ran. I asked him again in the contact sales person section of the site and I asked if I could ask him again how it ran.
Then he reply's with this "Perfectly OK to ask any questions about it. The thing I have to stress to you is this vehicle is not meant to be a daily driver UNLESS you put a lot of money into it. Every body panel on it is damaged, the passenger rear window is out and it's covered by plastic. The engine has a knocking noise and it runs rough. This vehicle is meant for parts or for a mechanic/body man to buy cheap and fix up. I simply want to be honest with you about the condition of it.
I've attached a video of it that I sent to another prospective buyer.
The video was a little over 1 minute long and it was just him walking around the vehicle talking about how bad the outside looked. And then he also said how his boss took it in as local trade. And in the video he started from the right side where the damage was minimal and then said the driver side had no damage and walked around the back and said "Oh wow and I thought the driver side was the only good side".
And he also said in the video the vehicle was 1,000 but it was just uploaded to youtube last month which means they dropped 200 on the price in 1 month.
So they are trying to get rid of it but he complains about it so dam bad.
I have wrote to him 2 times since them asking him how it starts and how it sounds and still no reply.
If your going to make a bad sales video and if it sounds as bad as you say it dose then start it up in the video.
How would anyone else deal with someone like this.
Plus another thing I hate was he figured I didn't know anything about vehicles only because I asked him how well it started.
It clearly stats that the vehicle runs and drives but would need to be pulled plus you could make appointment for a test drive.
But just so everyone knows I don't know crap about vehicles he was rite. But that's not the point.
"Plus not everyone is a mechanic or body man. After all if everyone was there own mechanic and had the know how to fix all there own stuff. We would not need mechanics or body men or even sites like this."
Anyone can work on a vehicle once they learn how to. And just by suggesting to someone you don't know in E-mail that they can't afford to repair a vehicle or have to know how is rude in my book.
How do I go by finding out more about this vehicle without talking to the same person again? i'm actually interested in it and want to know if I purchase it and fix the body the engine wont blow the second I turn the key. That's all I was asking him and then he started getting rude. Or I personally think he was rude.
What would you do in my case?

I don't know where to begin with you. No on this thing if they almost give it to you. They admit it's really parts only so it's value is possibly about it weight in metal by your description of body damage on all panels with those miles. In fact I'd quit entertaining vehicles that aren't total mainstream boring and ordinary vehicles.
You can write away as bad as I do in that "massive missive'' on that car said you think anyone can learn to fix a car - stop and think about just that.
True! Yes - after years of training, wild expense of tools and equipment AND the place to do it. Absolutely yes you can but it seems you want to know and be ready right now. How about 4-6 years not unlike going to college for a trade then work in it first then you can really get going on some serious stuff. It would IMO be a waste if just to get you into one cheap vehicle that needs probably all segments of the auto trade for this one.
So my question is what do you want, just get going in a vehicle or train to become a tech?
What are you doing for transportation now? It all matters,

$799? Stay away from it. Save your money for something nicer that doesn't needs tons of work.
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

They made it real clear that it's a parts car only and you just don't seem to want to hear that.
With that mileage I wouldn't even rely on it being much of a parts car.

You have heard the expression ( You get what you paid for) but in this case,you are not even getting your monies worth.This vehicle is not even good for salvaged parts.Body is in bad condition,the engine is worthless.With that kind of mileage,its probably at its end of its life.I think you would be better off just saving a few more bucks and get yourself a little better transportation than this.On the other hand,if you are looking for a project car,( This would be a Big Expensive Project ),well,its all up to you.Wish you luck.
