I have a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim 3.0 with about 150,000 miles on it. It had been running great then it overheated and died in the middle of the road. I got it home and my neighbor said it might be the thermostat but he didn't even check the radiator. I just tried to fill the radiator and the water is pouring out. It is pouring out on the passenger side of the car. I know it is an old car but it is all I have. Can anyone tell me if it might be the water pump?

Your going to have to follow the leak to it's source to determine what is leaking. Look for the highest point that you see coolant. If it seems to be coming from inside the timing cover, then that could be the water pump. The other concern you have is that if you got it real hot, it could have blown a head gasket now too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
