I know the feeling!
We have a new member here called BRIAN1 who has to be younger but I didn't ask. We need to both learn and teach what we spent years doing. They never re-invented the wheel -- but some high tech stuff got in?? Be well, Tom

Tom Greenleaf will like having another Ford tech here along with your experience.
Tom G. meet Tom (AKA) way2old; you two should hit it off very well.
NO I don’t mean Brokeback Mechanic like hit it off. (LOL)
You both seem to know the need in helping people understand that yes there are some repairs they could do on their own. But there are also times that a tech should be performing the repair because of the high cost of misdiagnosing something or for safety issues.
You’ve seen the diagrams and pic’s that I’ve posted on the other sites that I go to; these pic’s are now hosted by this site in the hope that some people would follow the properties of the image back here. I don’t know how well it’s working but I don’t want to
Shanghai (sp) people to come here, just give them a hint of where we are.
It’s a little slower here but a lot more personal that’s compared to some of the larger sites and there are no hot shots here that know everything and won’t listen to anything. Talking about hot shots there’s one fairly new site that we both have gone to comes to mind; it has an all knowing Mod that I love shooting down when he posts one of his bogus off the wall repairs/tests. The only strange thing is; after I’ve proved that he’s been wrong a few times, he now must actually think before he posts a reply. Took all the fun out of reading his replies; I guess I should have kept my mouth shut. LOL
That doesn’t seem to happen here; we feed off each other and usually come up with something for the person asking the question.
I’ll shut up now and thanks for checking in; there are more and more people that are starting to show up here and we need any help you’re willing to provide. You’ll also keep me in line when I go off on one of my rants or post something I shouldn’t have; like phone numbers. LOL.
I still remember the time you called me at the shop; I picked up the phone and it shocked me to hear this accent that defiantly wasn’t Canadian. It was good talking with you call anytime you want to gab; it also taught me not to post my number on an open forum. The next person that may call could be someone I don’t want to talk to or have to deal with.
