Re: question Sign In

Hi there thank you for answering, to be honest I didn't check the brake light, if that doesn't work, that might be blocking the power from reaching the shiffter, is this logic, thank you and hope to hear from you again.

Re: question Sign In

Your car has a small solenoid that is engaged electrically and its purpose is to not allow the shifter to move out of the park position unless the brake pedal is depressed. That way you can't accidentally bump it and have the car take off on you. But if the brake lights aren't working that would show you that there is a circuit fault and the signal to release that solenoid isn't happening. From there we know which direction to take to narrow down the issue.

Re: question Sign In

different manufacturers call parts different names. It would be a shifter interlock solenoid and is mounted directly on the shifter linkage. Not sure if this is a floor shifter model or not. I can't pull it up on my database but one of the other guys might be able to post it up for you soon.

Re: question Sign In

The interlock solenoid is in the shifter assembly. You have to remove the center console to get at it.

Quote">>I just replaced, the brake light switch and the brake light is working<<"

Is that exactly when this problem happened? If so, recheck that work,
