Well, here's my situation. My battery wasnt staying charged so i pulled the wires out of the regulator and noticed they were burned. I ordered a new regulator and I am still waiting for the new regulator to arrive in the mail. I DO NOT HAVE A REGULATOR RIGHT NOW, THE OLD BURNED ONE IS UNHOOKED. I was able to start the engine for a few days as along as the battery was charged, now my battery is fully charged but the engine won't start, the lights and all come on though. Do I have to have a regulator to start it? I started it a few times a yesterday they day before that but now it wont start at all. It just clicks under the seat then stops. So do i need to hook up the regulator or is there another problem? Thanks guys.

clicking is commonly associated with a bad battery. how did you confirm your battery was charged. if you didnt take care of the parasitic drain on the battery in the first place, then it has drained the battery again and thats what the clicking is. check your Rectifier, perhaps battery not getting charged by the stator. (link removed)

I expected he was just a spammer. He added the link to his profile after. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I made it real clear to you after your first post that you could not do that so don't say you didn't know.
