1994 ford explorer 4x4 , i think 3.0L engine, about 170k miles. Situation- Driving car is all fine and dandy, but sometimes it gurgles and shakes a little bit when I first get it started, and after I drive it a decently long distance, it sometimes dies out and has a really tough time starting again. I would let it cool, and can start it and drive. It kind of seems like the engine might be getting choked out? the intake is fine, so is the battery and alternator, no power problems. The plugs seem ok but I haven't checked them in a while but I was told that it might be the cat now funtioning properly and choking the exhaust. what would be the probable assumption in this case?

Roger that. The fuel pressure with the engine running is 30-40 psi Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

so, i did a computer check with an eeciv code reader and it just came back that there was major carbon build up in the engine. I was told by my local car shop that they used to have a machine to clean that right up, but to just put in fuel injector cleaner for at least 2 refills of my tank and that would clear it up. so far I put in the highest octane fuel there is, along with the injector cleaner, and got to about a quarter tank of gas. It is running better, but now i have more issues. not the truck running, but now the tires. I had bad front end alignment, and a lot of noise from the tie rods so I took a look, and the joints were no longer holding grease, so I changed them out. I did the alignment myself, my truck doesn't pull to any side at all, but my tires are being worn out at an absurd rate. Also it seems like when I turn my wheel, the tires go kind of on a tilt instead of staying flat. I don't know if that is normal for trucks, but I was just curious. My rationalization is that the tire tilts to help the car change direction, but to me that seems like a problem. I wouldn't know exactly where to start in fixing it
