I have a 1995 Ford Ranger wheel drive . It has a 4.0 engine at. with 153000 Miles . NON LOCKING HUBS. When I turn the switch to 4 heel or wheel high the lights come on and both drive shafts turn and even the shaft from the front axle turns . Could be in the hubs and if so how hard is it to fix . Thank You RICHARD L RUFF

Do you hear any ratcheting noises from the hubs? I believe if either hub doesn't lock, the front end won't engage. You might end up taking the hubs apart for inspection and cleaning. If there is too much grease, contamination, or worn out cams, the won't work properly. If they are really messed up, you also have the option of converting them over to manual locking hubs which are a lot more reliable. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
