97 ford ranger cant take off rear tube fuel filter

Well i decided to change my fuel filter on my 97 ford ranger 4 cyclinder but i cant seem to take off the rear tube that goes to the engine. The other one came out real smooth but there must be a trick to getting the engine side out seems to stuck or trapped.. Can anyone help..

Ford has 3 kinds of clips for their fuel lines. One of them needs a special tool to get it off. You can get it at Checker Auto Parts. You just put the tool around the fuel filter and push it into the line connection. This pushes up the clip ears inside the connection and allows you to pull apart the connection.

Yea I was gonna but then got the mental picture of the OP finally being able to drive his truck again after 3 years cuz someone told him how to take of the fuel filter...........
