Chevy 1500 idle problem

My truck is a 1994 Chevy silverado 4X4. However, the motor is a 1989 350 5.7L. When I start the truck it idles fine. When I turn on the AC and put it in drive my rpms drop to 200. Currently I adjusted the throttle linkage so that when I start the truck it idles at 1200 and when the AC is on and the truck is in drive it idles at 600. When the linkage has a little slack in it the rpms will bounce from 0-200, that is why I have it tightened. The motor also shakes which makes the whole truck vibrate going down the road. I have replaced the IAC, fuel filter, plugs w/ wires, distributor cap, rotor bug, and have cleaned the EGR valve and throttle body. There are no vacumm leaks either. Guys I need help. I can't figure out what it is. There is 250K miles on the truck.

All you've accomplished is to totally screw it up and make it worse. The idle speed is not adjustable. By changing the idle stop, all you do is throw the system into a tailspin. You're one of those guys that thinks you can repair a computer car with old school mentality. Well, you can't. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
