The tailgate on my 1995 Chev. Silverado 1500 is stuck closed. The handle opens the right side a bit but not the left side. How to open myself?

On the bed side of the tail gate there should be 3 fasteners holding the handle to the gate. Remove those and you should be able to get the handle out far enough to see if the left latch rod fell off. If it did, you can probably fish it out with a magnet. If you get the rod up to were you can grab it, you should be able to open the tail gate while pulling the other rod at the same time. Most the time the clip that holds the rod to the handle falls apart or the handle breaks.
