My '95 Ford Ranger Extended cap pick-truck with a V-6, 4.0 ltr engine has been sitting with very little use for 3 years. The ventilation system has the grossest, stale, moldy smell. How do I make it smell like a new truck again and get rid of the awful smell?

That smell is caused by bacteria and mold growing on the evaporator core from the condensation. It can be removed easily using Lysol but the problem is just getting access to the core. On the Ranger, it's not too hard to access but you will have to drill a hole in the plastic case and use an exterminator wand to spray down the evaporator. Jus make sure you don't drill through the evaporator. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
