2004 Highlander 4 cylinder. I want to change my spark plugs, but can't find them under all the stuff in my engine compartment. I either need some help or maybe one of those sniffer dogs. Thanks

I have repaired my own car for years. I rebuilt the engine on my Caravan 10-15 years ago. I think I can put in a set of plugs. However, these cars have gotten a lot more complicated. I was hoping for a little advice.

This isn't your father's Chevy any more. What you did 20 years ago isn't going to help you a bit today. I can't find any pictures of this one but it's probably a DIS system with coils under a cover in the middle of the valve cover. The coils have to be removed to access the plugs under them. I have to warn you that the questions you ask lead me to believe you could do some damage here so make sure you want to get involved in this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

This is a coil over system. Just pull the engine cover and you'll see the coils going into the V/C. Just becareful not to break the connecters. You may have to pull off the air intake tube to get to #3.

Spark plugs are usually located below spark plug wire . They are easily seen in engine's cover

Damn. I didn't realize all he had to do was follow the wires.
