Re: ball joints Sign In

Is this noise something that seems to happen over bumps or could it be responding to throttle position?

Re: ball joints Sign In

What I'm trying to find out is what triggers it. Is it hitting bumps, accelerating, braking, etc?

Justin; I can't feel a thing.Unsure If the CV boot has a hole or tear in it, that needs to be addressed. Whether that's the cause, we obviously don't know. Ball joints can make a 'clunk' noise going over bumps. U-joints and CV joints can cause a 'vibration'. Look for worn chassis mounts, strut rod bushings, ect. Further visual inspection is going to be needed.

If you're getting a vibration @ idle then the frt end is outta the picture.....Time to start looking at the drivetrain......slipped balancer, running problem, etc.........
