i got an 84 gmc 1500 and im having some compression problems. ive got it narrowed down to the valve seals. i dont want to take the heads off or anything like that. i know there is a way of doing it without taking them off but im pretty clueless on what to buy and what kind of seals i need and also how to do the job. if anyone could help please do. thank you

The valve seals won't help with compression - just there to keep oil from sucking down the guides. Was your problem oil consumption or puffing smoke especially after slowing down and then speed up/start-up? If just for oil there are "unbrella" seals for the valves that don't require taking off the heads. That doesn't work well either as the real repair is to replace the valve guides but this is usually along with lots of other engine wear, T
