ok i got the mail last night and window went down and then pooped out passenger side works but driver dont its very cold here and the red green way with duck tape is not an option here . so how do i get the window up for the winter until i replace it? 1983 C10 custume deluxe silverado fix'n up the TRUCK

Take the door panel off and see what broke in there. I think those are just one contact point with a roller on the bottom of the glass which is like a gutter channel. For temp fix just get the glass back into the rubber tracks if it fell out of those and prop it up using fairly soft wood - be creative inside there and if a power window unplug the motor. Check out what broke. If just the metal thing glued to the bottom of the glass you can just re-stick it back in there sometimes. If that just pulled out of there from putting an iced window or trying to force it down it will restick with some glue (you choose) that will still come apart if it must later. Some of the common hardware may be available aftermarket for a Chev Truck that old even. Bet you don't get much help from GM at the age now.
