Hey skydiver. I did a 1 minute search on the web and found this, www.440magnum-network.com/info/tech/engines/smallblock/smblockboltspecif.shtml Go easy on Dan. Dan knows his sh** and I will back him. We get lots of posters that want information that do not want to spend the time to do a little research themselves. It gets real old looking for information for somebody when they have the same internet we do. So from time to time we are gonna spout off the same as you did in your reply to him. Wouldn't it have been easier to post all that information in the original post and probably gotten an answer quicker? Remember, we are doing this because we want to help people, we do it for free, and we get pi**ed just as you do. So please give us a little credit for being alive and willing to post some kind of answer to your post. Thanks for using the forum and I hope you will use us again. Or, if you wish, you may take this information and go to other places in the future. That choice is up to you. Have a good day and remember we are also people that get extremely aggrevated on occassion. So if you decide to come back, we will welcome you, but if not Been nice knowing ya. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

Thanks way2old. you have been a big help. My apologies to whom they are due. In my defense, I would rather have no response than someone basically saying screw you and don't waste my time, which is the way i interpreted the "buy a book" response. I also look at posts and I could say why don't you look that up, but personally I think it is better to say nothing than to insult someone or piss them off. To me that is just common courtesy. However I am man enough to say I'm sorry to whom ever I pissed off. so DanD i'm sorry to you and to anyone else I might have offended in the process. Thanks again for the info. I really helped.

I was wrong as well; no excuse, you’re right I shouldn’t have replied at all. Your post just stuck me as you lazy S**T; the spec’s you were looking for are all over the net. I guess I was also being lazy by not stating that instead of my short two-word reply. So I also offer an apology if its not too late. What’s this engine going in; is it a project vehicle or your daily runner that you’re trying to get back on the road? Dan. Canadian "EH"

It's all cool. this goes in my daily driver. '98 pickem up @208,000 miles and it's the first time I've been it. I floated a lifter so I figured I might as well replace the timing chain while I'm in there. If this wasnt a needed truck I would completely go thru it. Maybe in the next 100,000 miles or so I can help it out a bit.

guess i'm lazy or dumb or what ever you want to call it but,the specs you listed are not for a 98,they are for the older small blocks, not the newer ones.I am locking for specs. on a 99 and am having trouble finding them.by the way i live in a small town no parts store to run to.trying to get heads back on,and forgot to get specs from machine shop.and it saturday.
