i have a 92 ford f150 4x4 i was coming down I5 all of the sudden it started smoking pulled over and looked under it trany fluid was coming from the inspection plate on bell housing about 3 quarts put 3 quarts in it had it flat bedded here to portland i have done lots of auto repairs and dianosed lots of motor problems but trannys just changed my first idea was front seal but ive moved it three times sense we got hear no leak fluid still up on dip stick now i am wondering if it might be the pump could really use some pointers need to get back home which is graysharbor

No - we don't know how far you are from home base and probably your tools. If that is too far away just have it done where it is. Probably front pump seal or pump and might need a torque converter. Most trans shops will want to do an overhaul and rightfully so on a 1992 if worth a dang still. 3 qts low is plenty low of course. Did other damage happen? Who knows.
