I have a 94 gmc sierra 1500 that I recently replaced the intake on. It ran before I replaced intake. Timing is tdc and no leaks, I had it running fine for about an hr and drove it around the block a couple times let it sit for bout 2 hrs and went to leave and just cranks looks like no spark or fuel. Does anybody have any ideas?

What engine does it have? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

According to my data base, the only 4.3 engine available for that truck is a VIN "Z" which is not a Vortec. It's a TBI. Check the plugs at the distributor. Look inside at the pins and make sure that none are bent over.

Its a tbi vortec motor they made them I've seen and worked on them and if it was a pin on the cap then why isn't it getting fuel also?

OK, lets get one thing straight. If you want help, stop arguing. You DO NOT have a Vortec engine. You have a TBI engine and it cannot be both. Do you want to check the distributor pins or are you going to expect me to justify everything I suggest because I have no intention of doing that? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I'm not arguing just stating a fact that it does have a vortec engine that's t.b.I and according to the local dealership it can and does have both and again what's bent pins on cap have to do with no fuel at throttle body? None of the pins are bent.

A Vortec and a TBI are 2 entirely different systems and you can't have both. Apparently your just to stubborn to listen so you're on your own.

As HT was trying to tell you, the VIN Z engine is TBI. There should be two of these injectors that you can see, looking down the TBI throat. Recheck your VIN #. The eighth digit tells us which engine you have. VIN W is the Vortec (multi-port....Eight 'injectors'). Can't be more clear than that. You'll need a scanner capable of live data to see if you have cranking rpm and a noid light to see if you have injector pulse. Loren SW Washington

Vin "W" was not an option for that vehicle Loren. It was only available with a "Z" and he admits it is a TBI but thinks it's also a Vortec. Just a case of he thinks he knows too much.

Agreed. LOL. When I was looking up the injector, it asked for W or Z, so just assumed there was both. I have to deal with that, everyday. Just as you do. If you know so much, why is it here? LOL. But, I'll try to be helpful if I can. Sometimes, it's tough. Loren SW Washington

ok people loren when u removed the intake did you disasemble the plume under the air intake, if you did it is a( multi port) (x)u would also see a injection system that we call a spider that sends fuel to each cylinder. if your air intake looked like a carburetor with 2 injectors in the center of the air intake with wires going to them it is a (tbi) (w) make sure the fuel pump is running at least 2 seconds when you turn the key on, also check and make very sure the the grounds are all hooked. did u unhook the battery cable off before replacing the gaskets. make sure the fuse is not blown the ing side. i really hated to get in this but i just got tired of the aruging.
