93 Dakota -Auto shutdown?

I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota truck with a 318 and high miles. It dies( no sputtering, it just stops running) within about 8 minutes of starting, and longer if the outside temperature drops. The engine will not start again for about 5 more minutes, but after that it will run good unless I let it set without running until the motor gets cold again. I also have a problem when it rains also only this time it varies as to when it will do this. It has a new coil and new air temperate sensor and I have checked the grounds out. It seems like the engine is getting a signal to automatically shutdown but I don't know what could send this signal. The engine has no spark from the coil when it doesn't start. It runs great otherwise. Thanks

Well you've narrow the problem down. I'm not sure of the tools you have but a common failure on those is the crank sensor. You should check it before replacing it.
If you have a tach, see if you are getting rpm while cranking. That is an 8v hall effect switch that will produce a signal with a 5v amplitude signal. You could hook a dvom up to the signal wire and see if you are getting a reading that bounces around. If you have 8v on one wire, a good ground & varying signal, then the sensor is bad.....
