I have a 93 gmc sierra. Original engine cracked a head so i had my neighbor put in a used engine from a stepvan. Same block and heads, i just mounted the old manifold and tbi to the new engine, as it ran fine before it overheated. Now the fuel pump and relay arent activating when they should. all fuses are fine. When i put 12 volts to switch the relay manually it runs but barely. I need to know what could be causing this, what controls fuel management that could have need messed up swapping in the new engine. All fuses checkedm replaced map sensor. HELP thanks.

Any trouble codes being stored in the ECM? You can jump A to B in the diagnostic connector and watch the check engine light flash. Did you check the ground wire at the thermostat housing bolt?

maybe im just thinking of the wrong thing, but isnt the EFI made easy a kit that is to bolt on in place of a carb or tbi and it has its own computer and tuning system for older cars like streetrods, in this case you will need to make the trans run off of the stock computer
