i have a 1997 dodge 1500 with 318 all the sensors check out ok but if i dont let it warm up for about 15 minutes it sounds like a chevy with the four barrel kicked in

Whether injected or carbed like the 4V Chevy sound you mentioned either make noise of air intake controlled by the apparatus of ductwork going thru the air filter to air horn/throttle body. If it makes this roar without a load yet still runs properly I'd check the integrity of all the snokeling from intake to the throttle body and that air filter is in properly. Can only guess - if all wrong it should be setting a code and I'm not sure why "if running properly" it waits the 15 minutes mentioned to go away? T
