Ford Transit 2011 Van Keyfob Damaged Sign In

Hello,
The keyfob (see pictures) stopped responding recently. Dismantled it and found that inductor and capacitor were physically damaged.
Used the key to unlock the door, the alarm started, tried to turn on the engine, wouldn`t start. Because the alarm was on, disconnected the batteries (to stop them from draining), however need advice how to fix the keyfob please!
Option 1: Find the inductor (which has the marking), but not sure where to find it. Anyone has any idea what is the mH value of a similar inductor? Perhaps anyone knows how to find a circuit diagram for the keyfob?
Option 2: Bought a used replacement key, but will have to program it. Not sure how well it will go with alarm on. Anyone knows if this is possible?
PCB code: VP6C1F14A615FF
Keyfob code: 6c1t15k601 AG AG
Many thanks!

Nobody repairs the key fob. Just buy a NEW one, not a used one. It may or may not be able to be reprogrammed.

In the meantime you should be able to turn the alarm off using the key in the door.

Here are the instructions for programming the fob

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Programming

NOTE: A maximum of 4 Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters can be programmed to the vehicle. Programming must be done at the same time for all the RKE transmitters.

1. NOTE: Make sure the front doors are unlocked and closed, and the ignition is in the OFF position.

Turn the ignition switch from the OFF to the RUN position 4 times in rapid succession (within 6 seconds), with the fourth turn ending in OFF. If the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) successfully enters program mode, the Instrument Cluster (IC) sounds a chime.

2. NOTE: If no action is taken within 10 seconds after a transmitter has been programmed, the programming sequence ends.

Within 10 seconds, press any button on the RKE transmitter to be programmed. The IC chimes to confirm that each RKE transmitter is programmed. Repeat this step for each RKE transmitter.

3. NOTE: There are NO chimes or any other confirmation from the IC upon exiting programming mode.

Exiting the programming mode is accomplished if one of the following occurs:

- The ignition transitions to the RUN position.

- 10 seconds have passed since entering programming mode or since the last RKE transmitter was programmed.

- The maximum number (4) of RKE transmitters have been programmed.

4. Check the operation of the transmitter. If the door locks do not respond for the programmed RKE transmitter(s), wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems See: Power Locks > Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview > Special Tool(s) Used With Diagnostics. (Make sure that no more than the maximum number of RKE transmitters are attempted to be programmed.)

Re: Ford Transit 2011 Van Keyfob Damaged Sign In

Thank you for the response Hammer time. It helps a lot!

The alarm switched off, but the hazard lights did not. Therefore I had to disconnect the batteries.

I bought a tested used key from eBay for £60, as I couldn't find a genuine new key online. The serial number is the same as the original key.

I have saw online that a FORD TRANSIT MK7 KEY FOB PROGRAMMER KIT exists and wondering, is that essential to use in order to reprogram the keys?

Link deleted ...... not allowed

(Make sure that no more than the maximum number of RKE transmitters are attempted to be programmed.)
That means to reset the 4 RKEs, a programmer tool is needed?
If so, is that one of them? deleted
Hopefully that is not necessary and the instruction will work.

Thank you very much,
Arnold

I deleted your links as they are not allowed in this forum.

According to the factory service manual there is no additional equipment required to program the remotes.

With all the additional equipment you are considering I don't know why you don't just let a reputable shop program them for you.

Thank you for the help.
It seems that when the batteries are reconnected, the alarm is still active.
I assume that the programming can be only done when the alarm is not triggered?
If so, is there a manual way to disarm the alarm?
Thank you!

Of course disconnecting the battery reactivates the alarm.

Removed drivers seat (for access), charged and placed the main battery back.Yes you are right, no alarm, however the red flash light is flashing (blue arrow in image).
Doesn't even attempt to start. No beep after turning four times as per programming instruction. Also when doors are closed, shows red door open light (yellow arrow in image).
Has the van entered some sort of protection mode maybe?

Thank you!

Re: Ford Transit 2011 Van Keyfob Damaged Sign In

This is looking more like an immobilizer problem, not just alarm system. The key has to be programmed with a scan tool for that.

These key serve 2 purposes. The contents alarm and the immobilizer are 2 different systems.
