Chevy strut replacement	Sign In

I'm trying to get a sensor of some kind off the top of my strut. its a cap with a wire attached to it. I have a Chevy High Country 1500 Silverado 2017. Thanks!

You don't remove that.

You have electronic suspension and that is part of the strut. That strut costs a whole lot more than the standard one.

You need to get the 3 digit RPO suspension code from the glove box that starts with a 6 or 7 to get the correct strut.

Thanks for a quick response! Would it be possible to install regular struts and leave it disconnected? I have expensive struts that I can't return (passed 30 day return).

That would cause all kinds of electronic issues if you did that. I don't know if they are even mechanically interchangeable.

If you think the one you bought was expensive, wait till you price the correct ones.

You should be able to return then, even over 30 days.
