I have put 3 front motor mounts in my 96 Corolla, the second time I replaced all 4 mounts as well as the outer axles. Struts also. Third motor mount less than a year ago, and I can tell by the feel of it that this third one is broken. I put a new clutch in it at the same time as the last motor mount. Manual trans, 240K. I am tired of putting money in this car, it is not used hard, just 20 miles each way to work and I drive it gently. WTF

Failed mounts are usually operator abuse (standard shift especially), contaminated by an oil or cheaply made parts. 240K and not used much?! Mounts not really involved if replaced but that way up there and stuff happens. Perhaps even exhaust heat is now not shielded from rubber mounts of something long removed or modified as a pita to fix some or costly, T

You have to buy them from the dealer. Aftermarket mounts won't work in that situation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
