Hey Guys, I am wondering what would be the best way to remove (as best as possible) these dents from the hood of my Neon? The first photo is the hood and the second is the metal interior under the hood. I could probably grind this out with careful work and hammer it in, but im wondering if there is a better and safer alternative. Thanks. Kyle. #1 #2

I fixed your links to make them show up here. First off, that is your trunk, not your hood. Unless you are a highly trained auto body professional, all you can do is make things much worse. If that is done wrong and you stretch the metal, it's not going to be repairable at all any more. Auto body repair is a trade, not a DIY job. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

If it bugs you enough except to touch up the rusted part of that DENT not a ding to fix you just might find a TRUNK lid the same color and exact fit for this. I find most junked cars at about this age are either too worn out in general, blown engines or front end collisions. That meaning chances of finding a trunk like much better than a hood. Ask some places AND by the color and any trim package. You might get a good price and spare even the paint of another or fixing that one. Just don't get a rusty one if that works at all and even that could be tricky so a body shop might still be right for the swap. Just a thought and maybe. As HT said if you try to fix that yourself and make it harder better not to try it yourself. I really doubt that dent will just come out so easily and stretched metal so would show if you could bump that out or make it worse, T
