Bumper Cover scrape

2008 Chevy Impala My son backed into an Impala today. There are no dents, but a 3 inch long scrape on the bumper cover. Can this be fixed by an auto detailer, or does it need to go to a body shop?

This is a rubber bumper. If it has a gouge in it, then replacing the bumper is probably your only option. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

IMO it needs close inspection by a body shop. It may look small like a scratch but have sprung back and left dented/damage unseen. Have seen "detail" make things LOOK lots better but know what you are getting and want, T

It can however be repaired, but still depends how extensive the damage is. You can sand the damage of just make sure to use the finest grit.
