2017 Hyundai Sonata ticking/knocking sound??	Sign In

2017 Hyundai Sonata Se 2.4L 87000 miles

Noticed this sound as I was driving the other day everything was good before. No check engine lights. Ticking/knocking occurring between 2000-2500 RPM but not at idle or at speeds over 35.

I couldn't make that format of You-Tube work yet will fix that but noises are so in person best to rule out what you can.
Do you hear this inside car, windows closed?
If you can, try to duplicate it with a helper, hood open plain look for the obvious. Loose parts, recent work? Suspect items to me this relatively new still include any and all belts, timing chain if equipped a maybe vs belt.
Other can be exhaust heat shield even some flaw with front flex pipe. Tap on those or pipes near usually a bad one will sing out engine off.
Check the easy stuff are all intake parts channeling air into engine intact?

Noises are warnings early to know and fix can save a disaster,
