Hey! this is my first post hoping to get some help I am working on a 2007 Dodge charger police special 5.7L with about 106k on the dash. First off I bought this car cheap because it didn't have any catalytic converters (see attached pics) so i knew there was work to be done just to clear the check engine light so it could be inspected (I know a guy). When I first bought the car I scanned it and found the codes might have been cleared previously, and I was getting a P0137 O2 circuit low voltage on Bank 1 Sensor 2 (driver side post cat). I pulled that O2 sensor, and scanned a P0138 high voltage for that sensor (keep in mind I am not driving the car around). After replacing the B1S2 O2 sensor and clearing the codes I drove around to see if the engine light would pop back on and It did within 1 mile of driving. After further driving (40 miles) I am reading 2 High voltage codes P1038 for Bank 1 sensor 2, and a P0153 O2 circuit slow response for Bank 2 Sensor 1. Idk what happened, if that new code has always existed or if the high voltage code will go away eventually. It is important to note that I had to splice a universal O2 sensor to make it to the bung port. I also assumed that the longneck headers "post cat" bungs had cheater tubes/ fowler plugs which is why the other exhaust side wouldn't be throwing similar codes. Please help! Thanks, Dm735455 Images: OBD2 Initial Low voltage code: undercarriage1: undercarriage2:

You need to get the exhaust system fixed before you worry about any 0/2 codes. Somebody put aftermarket headers on it. You are going to have to put the original exhaust manifolds and header pipes back on and then get the Cats back on. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I agree with HT. How would something like that even pass emissions inspection? Universal O2 sensors are crap. Chryslers are funny when it comes to O2 sensors. Always a good idea to use dealer sensors on those. If you have exhaust leaks near or upstream of the sensors, it will cause O2 codes to pop up. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

It will not work and is in fact illegal to operate in that condition. Replace the exhaust and converters and then tackle the 0/2 issues if you still have them.

Legal or not put them back as OE designed or forever have aggravations. It's just not designed to not have them and working. There's no performance gain for eliminating them or hear of boring them out. Back pressure was already thought of and incorporated for best results with them working, T
