2004 Dodge Neon Transmission Question

Hi... Just had a transmission replaced (after it blew) in April, and have recently noticed that there is some hesitation when I first start the car in the morning, when it comes to shifting into drive or reverse. Now my question is.....does an engine tune up have an effect on the performance of the transmission? I'm trying to find out whether or not it is a transmission problem or a "I need to get the car tuned up" problem... Thanks, Carl

scan for codes - yes even if light is off. check trans fluid level. talk with the shop that replaced trans, I would expect a year warranty. With todays computer controlled powertrains be very very wary of the term 'tune up'....
