Car when shut of will switch through the gears without a problem, but when car is running it is almost impossible to shift any gears. I replaced the transmission fluid and it had no effect. But when I force the gears and drive around for awhile it loosens up and starts to shift easily. Any ideas?

You could have a transmission problem but it sounds more like a hydraulic clutch problem. Is your clutch catching real close to the floor and does it try to creep when sitting in gear at a stop ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Check the fluid level for then hydraulic clutch and if it's low you wll have to find the cmponent that is leaking, either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder and replace it. Then you will have to bleed all the air out of the system which may not be easy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
