My 1931 Model A has developed a cracked block about an inch below the head near the #4 piston sleeve area. Do any of the block sealers on the market work? I just tried a popular brand, and it did not. I thought I might try once more one of the more pricy types available on the net. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The crap in a can doesn't work it just causes issues. A cracked block can only have a lasting repair if taken to a good welder who can handle cast iron.

As Nick said - forget sealers. Jeez - when this thing was new you would just put sawdust or ground pepper in it till you could fix it right. The likely crack is water jacket out so just cast iron and can be welded up and be fine. It is a zero pressure cooling system so even less fussy except welding cast iron is different than the crudest steel welding, T

With the proper prep, the proper preheat and using nickel rod this will weld up just fine. I just did the crack repair on a semi truck rear axle housing that way and its good as new.
