Why do vehicles with a carb use o2 sensors? Sign In

I have a old mazda truck that has a carb, Why does it have a upstream o2 sensor?

Because it has an electronic carb with a mixture solenoid.

Ok, so does that mean it has a PCM?
It has to have something computer like to control the solenoid rite?

PCMs weren't used until 96 and OBD2. You do have a computer though.

Oh.. ok i understand.
So pree 96 is just called a computer?
Do you know where the compuer on this truck is located cause I've never seen it.
It's a 87 mazda B-2000 2wd.
