scared of multiple timeing chains

i have 2004 dodge intrepid 2.7 v-6 replaceing waterpump means pulling multiple timeing chains.i have a book from partstore but it doesnt tell u all secrets tips tricks to make this an error free repair. book says find tdc pull belts , crank pulley but it dont tell how u keep everything still while u break nut loose on pulley. im not a mechanic but im the closest thing out of me my wife and four kids.i cant hav this thing down verylong.i need all info i can to make it happen first try.last thing i want is get it changed and buttoned up and .have to go back ing cuz time is off. i have limited mechanical tools, and no time for backtracking. need support resourses or clear pics but i dont know wher to find it with the two pennies ive been pinchn togethr all month

Don't think anyone here is going to have pictures and instructions any different from what would be in the manual you bought. I do know that this is not a easy job at all. it's been several years since I worked at chrysler and even with all the proper tools no fun. I don't recommend you tackling this yourself, expecially if your limited on tools. Pretty sure there is only one chain though, but I could be mistaken.

I agree. You'll need a special tool to hold the crankshaft pulley to remove the damper bolt and three jaw puller to remove the damper. Then you need a balancer installer to put it back on. You'll also need torque wrenches in inch and foot pounds and a special tool to collapse the hydraulic tensioner. For someone who hasn't done a timing chain or belt, it would be a challenge. I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner unless an experienced tech is standing over him/her. Labor time is 8 hrs and skill level is B Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
