water in the oil Sign In

got a 98 z-71 w/ water in the oil, the engine has 180k on it, but I only use the truck for hunting so I don't drive it much. The bottom end is in good shape and I'm sure the head gasket is blown. Is it worth rebuilding the heads and going from there or is a complete rebuild the answer.

That's a lot of miles on the bottom end to be rebuilding the heads. With water in the oil I would say there is a real good possibility of a cracked head too.

"b" - that's a TON of hunting miles if so. Is there a cat fish in the radiator (inside joke)

Is this the 5.7 Vortec? Intake gaskets are common to those.

Water in oil. How deep did this thing get exposed to?
