2005 Nissan Armada V8 5.6 105,000 miles. Light comes on,brakes act up. When i turn engine off and restart ,lights go off and brakes work properly. Doesn't do it all the time. Sometimes we have to turn it off more than once for it to reset

Are you sure it's not the other way around like they work good when the light is on but act up when the light is off? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I was wrong about the lights. The ABS is the only one on. ABS came on ,brakes quit working right, pulled over turned engine off, restarted and light went off, brakes worked properly. It has happened several times

That really doesn't make a lot of sense because once the light comes on, the ABS system has been shut down and you are using regular brakes. Either way, what you need to do is have the codes read with a professional scan tool, not just a generic OBD2 reader. Post the exact code number here.

Describe what "quits working" is.... If it happens to be making a lot of noise and the pedal bouncing then it sounds like something is activating the ABS system when it shouldn't. I've seen some bad tone rings do this.

"Quits working " yes there's a noise. Feels like I lose brakes for a second then I have to press harder on the brakes for them to work. Everything you're saying sounds right. Thanks

As`I already instructed you, you need to have the codes read to go any further.
